Fits: Axial 1/18th Scale UTB18 Crawler Buggy
Modifications Required: None
You will recieve: 2 - Spines (Aluminum), 1 - Skid, 1 - M3x40, 4 - M3 Locknuts
Note: Orange Screws in Diagram are sourced from the Stock Kit
According to the 2023 Mini-Comp Class Rules, the Wheel base is restricted to a max of 9 inches. The UTB18 at full compression of the suspension, measures just a hair over while the suspension is cycling. It ranges from 9in uncompressed to 9 3/16th inches fully compressed. I've adjusted the rear upper link postion to slightly clock the pinion angle up to provide better clearance with HC links and bring the wheel base into exactly 9 inches at full compression.
Reccomended Instalation process:
1) Remove the stock skid and transmission.
(Use stock scews again: 3 - Skid Mounting Screws, 1 - Lower Link Stud, 4 - Transmisison Screws, 4 - Upper Link Screws)
2) Attach the transmission to the HC Skid
3) Attach the Upper links to the Spines with the provided M3 Lock nuts and stock screws in the desired position.
(Middle is about the same as stock)
4) Slip the spine over the stud on the frame to help put the rest together.
5) Attache the rear lower links with the Stock M3 Stud.
(The lower links screws go in trhought the side marked "Link")
6) Install the Skid using the three stock screws leaving the front front hole open.
(A screw will not thread into this hole)
7) Attach the front lower links with the provided M3x40 screw.
(The Screw goes thought the cage - Spine - Skid - Lower Links)
Note: The front lower link hole is threaded after about the first 10mm
Stock Interior Note: The interior will hit the top of the transmission. You can still secure it in place by pressing it down and securing the interior in place. I recommend removing the interior tray and hood while installing the skid. This will allow you to secure your wires to the spine to clean it up a little.
IMPORTANT: Do not use power drivers on 3D printed parts. Over tightening printed parts and cause premature cracking and crushing. Always ensure you hardware will not bottom out in the screw pocket. This can also cause at 3D printed part to break prematurely.
Printed Parts - These parts will be printed in Black (Unless otherwise requested) using advances slicing methods for maximum strength. All 3D printed parts come with a lifetime replacement guarantee. If you break a part, simply send us a photo and your order number. The photo is simply to evaluate for common issues and help identify potential improvements to existing designs.
