Fits: Tamiya Sand Scorcher or Monster Beatle Bug Body (58452)
Modifications Required: None
Color: Black
What you Get: You will recieve two sets of window frames (incase you mess up installing the first time)
What you Need: Lexan or other clear flexable plastic .02" - .04" thick, flexible CA glue
The fram is printed flat and will require some careful bending pressing and clamping to hole it in place while the glue sets. Due to how thin the parts are, this was the best method to produce this part.
Instructions:
The frame consists of two parts. You will take the top frame pice that seats in the window from the inside an use it to trace the shape on your lexan or other "fo-glass" material. Trim the lexan on the inside of the cut. The bottom part will allow the lexan and the top part of the frame to rest down inside. Use some flexable CA glue on the seam to hole the frame together with the lexan installed. Allow it to fully cure before you put the window in the bug. From the inside of the bug lign up one edge and then press the oposing edge into the window slot on the body. The frame will gently snap in place enought for you to get some clamps in it to glue in it place. My preference is hot glue becasue I can remove it if I mess up. Do not remove your clamps untill the glue is dry.
IMPORTANT: Do not use power drivers on 3D printed parts. Over tightening printed parts and cause premature cracking and crushing. Always ensure you hardware will not bottom out in the screw pocket. This can also cause at 3D printed part to break prematurely.
